The Outpatient Drug Treatment Clinic with an integrated drug consumption room is a facility for people with substance use disorders in Bonn. Operated by the Association for Assistance to Vulnerable Individuals and affiliated with the Quantiusstraße Support Center, it sees itself as an integral part of the substance use disorder treatment system and provides health care, survival support, and recovery assistance to people with substance use disorders.
Medical care: physician consultations, basic and emergency medical care, outpatient care, general health counseling, medical care in drug-related emergencies
Social work services: Encouraging individuals to seek medical help, encouraging risk-avoidance during drug use, support in securing basic livelihood needs, assistance with housing, finding housing and employment, debt relief, crisis intervention, encouragement to and referral for detoxification, substitution treatment, and therapy
Services in the waiting and lounge area: Syringe exchange and distribution of drug-use equipment to prevent health risks associated with drug use; assessment of care needs and referral to further social work and medical services
Drug consumption room: Provision of sterile injection equipment, first aid in the event of an overdose, safer-use counseling, and low-threshold referrals to further support services
This service is intended for adult drug users who are permanent residents of Bonn. First-time or occasional users, as well as individuals who are too intoxicated, must be denied access.
